The Burlington Amateur Radio Club (W1KOO) has completed significant technical enhancements to its primary 2-meter (146.940 MHz) and 70-cm repeater systems located atop Mount Mansfield.
Featuring new commercial-grade antenna arrays and weatherized coaxial feeds, the elevated site now provides crystal-clear handheld coverage across the Champlain Valley and extends radio contact into northern Vermont and neighboring New York counties.
⛰️ Mountain-Top Emergency Relay
The high-altitude installation plays a vital role in Vermont ARES emergency communications, linking local emergency management directors with state headquarters during severe winter blizzards and flooding.
